This week you are going to start putting your portfolio together.

What is the portfolio?

Task Title
 Digital Portfolio
Task Description
 Students will create an ICT portfolio focused on developing teaching resources that could be used by a teacher in an educational context. (e.g. this portfolio may be focussed on appropriate and relevant material for the primary EFL classroom or it may be focused on demonstrating the use of technology as a tool for learning.) The students may choose an age range or a theme to develop the material around. The students will present four different teaching artefacts for assessment. The Portfolio could include the following:

  • Information / tutorials etc. related to hardware or software
  • Poems or stories with added graphical illustrations
  • Use of the Internet as a tool for the creation of resources
  • Any learning object/ tool chosen by the student

Getting started


  1. open the portfolio template page
  2. copy from the word 'My Discussions' to the end of the page
  3. go to the Projects page, find your name, and open your link
  4. paste the template you copied into your projects page
  5. save your projects page

Your first task

  1. you have already started the work required for the portfolio.
    • you have a story you have created
    • you have read the readings which you will you to say why your work is useful. This is called the rationale.
  2. so let's get started
    • Today you will work on Artifact 1. This means you have to do the following:
      • open an account on your preferred video channel (e.g.. You Tube)
      • save your video to your account
      • link/ embed the video on your project page
      • add the rationale below (this you will have done a few weeks ago in Task 3)
      • complete a bibliography for the rationale
